About Us

Welcome to MacNabb Funeral Home, P.A. & Cremation Society of Maryland Inc. and Metro Crematory, Inc., where tradition meets compassion. Our roots trace back to 1841 when the Hillsinger Funeral Home, originally a cabinet, blacksmith, and livery service, embarked on a journey that would evolve into a legacy of service and care. Undertaking services began in 1861, and after World War I, Mr. MacNabb took the reins, moving the funeral home from Ellicott City to Catonsville.

In the late 1940s, the funeral home found its current home at 301 Frederick Road, maintaining its Victorian charm amidst numerous renovations. Today, we proudly continue this tradition as a fifth-generation family-owned establishment, led by Mr. George MacNabb until his retirement in March of 2022. At which time the companies were acquired by Mr. Macnabb's General Manager Mr. James T. Schwartz.

 

Mr. Schwartz is the current President and Supervising Mortician.
