Amy (Duncan) Thornhill, 61, of Brooklyn Park, Maryland, passed away on October 10, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and a lifetime of memories they will forever cherish.
Amy was a beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. To her grandchildren, she was “Mimi,” a name filled with love. She was the rock of her family—a caretaker with a big personality, a free spirit, and a way of making ordinary moments memorable.
Amy loved being outside, especially spending early mornings in her garden. She could happily spend the whole day tending to her plants and working in the yard. She enjoyed life’s simple comforts: a Mountain Dew in the morning, something chocolate—especially with caramel—and the softest pajamas and blankets. She also loved a good crab cake and steamed crabs.
Social and outgoing, Amy loved being around people. She could start a conversation with anyone, and she always did. She took pride in being a great neighbor and valued the people who lived around her. Those who knew her will remember her spirit, her soft skin, and the way her hardest laughs sometimes made no sound at all. Most of all, they will remember how much she meant to them.
Amy is survived by her mother, Margaret Duncan; her daughter, Harley Kukus, and son-in-law, Chez Kukus; her son, Mason Conrad; her daughter, Sidney Conrad; and her three beloved granddaughters, Skylar Nalley, Bryleigh Berg, and Delanie Kukus.
A memorial service and celebration of Amy’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.
Amy was gone too soon, but her spirit lives on in her children, her grandchildren, and everyone who knew and loved her.
