Anthony Ray Durden

July 13, 1977 — July 14, 2025

Baltimore

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Anthony Ray Durden, affectionately known as Tony. Though his time with us was far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is one of strength, laughter, and unwavering love.

Tony was a man of many talents, but at his core, he was a true craftsman. A gifted carpenter by trade, he took pride in his work, pouring his skill and precision into every project he touched. Whether he was building something with his hands or fixing what others couldn’t, he did it with passion and pride—often with a mischievous smile and a story to tell.

He had a charm that was undeniable and a personality that filled every room he entered. Quick-witted, endlessly talkative, and always ready for a spirited debate, Tony’s conversations could go on for hours—often filled with laughter, teasing, and a few well-placed jabs. He had the rare ability to challenge you and make you laugh in the same breath.

But beneath his sharp tongue and bold spirit was a man with a heart of gold. Tony would give you the shirt off his back and show up whenever you needed him. He was a jack of all trades, the guy who could fix your sink, your car, your broken heart—and still make you laugh while doing it.

Tony’s greatest joy was his daughter, Alana Durden, whom he adored with all his heart. Recently, his heart grew even fuller with the birth of his grandson, Enzo Julius, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy. Tony was absolutely thrilled to become a grandfather and embraced that role with the same fierce love and excitement he gave to everything else in life.

He leaves behind not only Alana and Enzo, but also his loving mother and stepfather, Vicki and Donald Haas; his beloved grandmother, Eva Forwood; his sisters, Tara Durden and Susan Lagisse; his brother, Donald Haas; and several cherished aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that Tony lived his life boldly and unapologetically. He loved fiercely, laughed often, and left an imprint on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Rest easy, Tony. We will miss your laughter, your stories, your stubbornness, and above all, your love. You were one of a kind—and you’ll never be forgotten.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at Chesterwood Park, located at 2200 Chesterwood Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222, on Monday July 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
