It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene R. Buchta, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 27, 2026. She spent her final moments enveloped in the love of her family, with her devoted daughter Erica holding her hand, after a courageous battle with cancer and pneumonia.

Arlene was born on August 24, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, to late Robert G. Keane Sr. and the late Ethel R. Keane. Growing up in a household filled with love and warmth, Arlene learned the values of compassion and selflessness early on, traits that she carried with her throughout her life.

A beacon of kindness, Arlene was known for her unwavering selflessness and her deep love for animals. She possessed a rare ability to put others before herself, always offering a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand to those in need. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched the hearts of everyone she met, leaving a lasting legacy of love and generosity.

Arlene was a devoted matriarch, finding joy in the simple pleasures of family life. She is survived by her loving daughter, Erica Balin, and her husband Jason, who were the light of her life. Her cherished grandchildren, Parker, Avery, and Ella, brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

Arlene is also survived by her brothers, Robert Keane Jr. and Lou Keane, who shared in her life's journey and cherished their time together. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law ,
Richard Hoffman and his partner Henry, who was a steadfast source of support and love throughout her life.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Gilcrest Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Arlene's final week. Their dedication to honoring Arlene’s wishes to remain at home, surrounded by family, provided comfort and peace during a challenging time.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. While her physical presence will be sorely missed, the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her will endure forever.

As we remember Arlene, let us honor her legacy by embracing her spirit of kindness and selflessness in our own lives. Her memory will live on in the stories we share, the love we give, and the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace, forever surrounded by the love she so generously gave.
