Bessie Stratos Perez passed away peacefully at her home after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 61 years old. Bessie Stratos Perez was born November 17, 1964, to John and Diana Stratos in Baltimore, Maryland.

Bessie was the youngest of five children — three older sisters and a brother. Bessie was involved in the food industry in one capacity or another all of her adult life. She put her knowledge, determination, and hard work ethic into starting a pizza business in Carney with the assistance of her brother. After selling the business, she continued working long hours and managed Maria’s in Timonium, Maryland, for many years.

Bessie was a devoted wife to her husband, Victor Perez, and a devoted mother to her beloved children, Victor Perez the Third and Ashley Perez. She adored and cherished her granddaughter, Sephia. Bessie worked very hard all her life to provide for her family and give them a good life. Her family was the center of her world, and she would do anything to make sure the people she loved were taken care of.

Those who knew Bessie will remember her for her strength, her determination, her loving heart, and especially her infectious laughter. She had a way of making memories that will remain with her family and friends for the rest of their lives. Her presence brought warmth into the lives of those around her, and although she is no longer with us, the love she gave will continue to live on through her family.

Bessie faced her battle with cancer with courage and strength. Through difficult days, she remained surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was defined not by the illness that took her from us, but by the years of love, hard work, laughter, memories, and devotion that she gave to the people she loved.

Bessie is survived by her husband, children, and granddaughter, as well as three sisters. Her only brother passed away in April 2019. Bessie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten. The love she gave her family will continue through the lives of her children, granddaughter, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

May her memory be eternal.
