Brian R. Kaplan, age 51, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, at home in his beloved Baltimore City.

Born on October 2, 1974, Brian grew up in Columbia and was a proud graduate of Oakland Mills High School, Class of 1992. He went on to a career in the mortgage industry. To know Brian was to know a man fiercely loyal to his passions. He was an absolute sports enthusiast, loudly and proudly cheering on the Baltimore Ravens and Duke basketball. His love for Baltimore City was woven into his being, and he championed his town through thick and thin. He was a fixture on O’Donnell Square, especially at the original Looney’s Pub, sneaking away from time to time to Seacrets in Ocean City.

Above all, Brian’s greatest legacy is his family. He was the son of Edward Kaplan and the late Ellen Wolf Kaplan, and the cherished stepson of Eileen Kaplan.

Brian’s pride and joy live on through his daughter, Brieanna, and his four grandsons, Charles IV, Cameron, Corey, and Cobey.

He is also survived by his brothers and their families, who will miss his spirit dearly: Douglas and his wife, Laura; Michael and Jessica; and Daniel and Brittany. Brian was a proud uncle to Eric, Emily, Elise, Aurora, and Marcus.
