On Saturday, May 2, 2026, Cherie Lynn Poore passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love and faith. Cherie was a loving Mother to her son Chase, a Veteran who served our Country through the United States Army, and a faithful servant and disciple of Jesus Christ. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born in Maryland, and living in Washington State for many years, Cherie spent her life loving music, singing, defending our country in the First Gulf War, being a devoted parent, a kind and thoughtful friend, and walking through life depending on Jesus. Cherie spread joy wherever she went with her beautiful smile and was a source of light and encouragement to all those around her.

Cherie is survived by her beloved son Chase, her sister Colleen Hendley, her faithful bonus cousin Debbie Wheeler-Foutz and many other cousins, as well as her community of friends that she considered family. She was preceded in death by her son's father Charles Renfro, daughter Sarah Poore, parents Colan & Patricia Poore, and brother Greg Poore.

A memorial service to celebrate Cherie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd at 11am at Community Christian Church in Nottingham, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Safe Families for all of their support to Cherie and Chase throughout the years. Safe Families donations may be made here: buildingfamiliesforchildren.org. Please check the box to specifically donate to Safe Families.
