Claire Virginia Brzeczko

June 29, 1949 — November 9, 2025

Baltimore

Claire Virginia Brzeczko passed away peacefully on Sunday November 9, 2025 in Baltimore, MD. Born on June 29, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Earl and Norma Virginia Mitchell nee Mowbary. She was the loving wife of Anthony John Brzeczko, Sr. for 56 years.

Claire’s mission in life was to bring joy to as many people as she could, and she fulfilled that mission with a heart full of generosity and warmth. Her capacity for unconditional love was evident in the way she cherished her family and the many friends she gathered throughout her life. Claire devoted her life to caring for others, beginning as a candy striper volunteer at the local hospital and later teaching pre-K, where her warmth and patience touched countless young lives. Before starting her family, she worked as a medical secretary for the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, a role she returned to after her years as a dedicated stay-at-home mother. A woman of faith and quiet creativity, she shared her love of music by playing the piano and singing in the church choir. Claire took great joy in the little things, especially her iPad games, in which she often had a heavy hand with her stylus, and Facebook, where she watched videos of baby monkeys and loved to share inspirational quotes with her family and friends. She also found comfort in reading, spending many peaceful hours immersed in the stories she loved. Guided by a deep and abiding faith in God, she always aimed to do right by everyone she met, living her beliefs through kindness and grace. Her truest passion was forming friendships wherever she went, and once someone became Claire’s friend, they had a friend for life. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she loved, creating memories that will continue to inspire and comfort her family. Her legacy of love, generosity, and strength lives on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Along with her husband, Claire is survived by her children Anthony Brzeczko and Michelle Brzeczko; her grandchildren Carra Brzeczko, Alexis Brzeczko, Sierra Bory, and Felicia Bory; her brother Frank Mitchell and his wife Jan.
