Cynthia Bauer

October 21, 1957 — December 27, 2024

It is with the deepest sadness and heaviest of hearts that we share that Cynthia Hyland Conroy Bauer died on Friday, December 27, 2024 of traumatic injuries following a car accident on December 21. Our loss is immeasurable, our world is diminished.

Cindy, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, was born on October 21, 1957 in Baltimore, where she cultivated her life of service and compassion. She found her true professional calling as a respected substance abuse disorder counselor, a court liaison, and the head of the women's department for Right Turn of Maryland, the state’s premier addictions recovery program. Throughout her career, she positively impacted the lives of countless individuals, guiding them through some difficult times with her kindness and understanding.

Cindy attended Notre Dame Preparatory School, Loch Raven High School, and Virginia Tech. Those formative experiences helped shape her into the caring and thoughtful person loved and admired by so many. Cindy's unwavering love for her family was palpable. She had an infectious optimism and a great sense of humor, and brought joy to the world.

Cindy was a passionate animal lover who had many cats and dogs throughout her life, and rescued and nurtured many more. She had a special place in her heart for her beautiful companion and German Shepherd, Lola.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Jack Conroy, her twin sister, Susan Conroy, and her brother, John Conroy.

Cindy leaves behind her beloved family, including her sons, Jordy Bauer, (daughter-in-law Sarah Bauer), and Evan Bauer, and her cherished grandson, Bron Bauer. She is also survived by her sister, Dana Conroy (brother-in-law Jim Rosenfield), brother, Greg Conroy (sister-in-law, April Conroy), brother, Terry Conroy, (sister-in-law Kim Conroy) and her dear nephews and nieces, Jamie and Kitt Rosenfield, Devin, Quinn, Ryan, Nikole, Remie, and Shane Conroy.

We mourn, but as we remember Cindy, we celebrate her remarkable life as a devoted counselor, a nurturing family member, and a true friend to many. Her legacy of love, compassion, and commitment to helping others will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Friday, January 24th , 2025, at 11:30am at St Joseph Parish in Cockeysville, MD. All are welcome.
