Dennis K Wesley, affectionately known as “Sheep,” passed away on June 16, 2026, in Elkridge, Maryland, at the age of 56. Born on New Year’s Day in 1970, he was the first baby welcomed into the world that day in Cheverly, Maryland—a fitting beginning to a life marked by compassion, resilience, humor, and a profound love for his family.

Those who knew Dennis appreciated his unmistakable warmth and giving spirit. He was a man who delighted in the company of others, striking up conversations wherever he went—always eager to hear another’s story, always ready to offer a kindly gesture or a heartfelt word. If you needed help, Dennis would lend you the shirt off his back, no matter the cost to himself. His ability to make strangers feel like old friends enriched every community he touched.

Dennis’s journey took him down varied paths, each marked by hard work and steady dedication. From his early days at Froggies, the sub and pizza shop, to installing plumbing in Ocean City, from selling cars in Seaford, Delaware, to the many meaningful roles he held within the funeral and death-care industry—Dennis worked not just for a paycheck, but to connect with people and offer them comfort, especially in moments of hardship and loss. Countless families experienced his gentle support and respectful guidance during their darkest hours, and many will remember his kindness for years to come.

Just as much as he gave of himself to others, Dennis cherished joy and laughter. He could be counted on to join in on any prank or cook up one himself, bringing humor and levity, even when he bore burdens of his own. Those closest to him knew that behind his generous heart, Dennis carried a quiet sorrow. The loss of his father at age fifteen shaped his life, introducing him early to the kind of pain he would spend his life helping others to navigate. Though he struggled privately with sadness and loss, he did so with courage, never letting it dampen his deep love for his family or his grandchildren.

Dennis’s life was a tapestry richly woven with relationships. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Bobbie Lange, who was his anchor. His daughter, Tori, and her two children, Luke and Rose, were the lights of his life; his role as a grandfather brought him special pride and joy. Each story they now share about him will keep the memory of his playfulness, wisdom, and love alive through generations.

He joins in rest those whom he dearly missed: his father, James Wesley; his mother, Elizabeth Vaughn; his brother, Stacy Wesley; his sister, Tabatha Harris; and his nephews, Jeremy Wingo and Caleb Wesley.

Dennis K Wesley’s legacy is one of service, laughter, humility, and enduring love. He leaves behind lessons of empathy and resilience, and memories that will be cherished by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

More than anything, Dennis loved his family. He took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather, and his grandchildren, Luke and Rose, brought him immense joy.

Burial will immediately follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

A reception will be held at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez following the burial, where all are welcome to gather, share memories, and support one another.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help cover the unexpected funeral expenses and to ensure Dennis is given the dignified service he deserves. Any contribution, no matter the size, is sincerely appreciated.
