Doneth Mae Hinkleman (Belsinger) passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29th in her Sykesville, MD home at the age of 79. Donny battled pancreatic cancer.
Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in the Northwood neighborhood. Donny graduated from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University). After retirement she lived in Pawleys Island & Murrells Inlet, SC for 11 years before returning to the Ellicott City, MD area.
Donny worked as a ‘civilian medic’ during the Vietnam conflict in Japan. She worked as a technician for Lewis Veterinary Hospital in Clarksville, MD. Donny operated Manna Fest Kitchens catering with her sister, Susan, in the Baltimore-Washington area. Donny also worked at Eyre Bus Service in their Human Resources Department.
Donny was a strong, independent and resourceful woman, who was especially close to her family. She had an incredible wit and great sense of humor. She loved travel and took most recent trips abroad to Ireland, France, Germany and Turkey with family and friends. Donny was an avid Scrabble and Words with Friends player. She loved animals and raised many dogs and cats to a ripe old age.
Donny is predeceased by her father, Robert Henry Belsinger, Sr. of Silver Spring, MD and younger brother Robert Henry Belsinger, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years David Charles Hinkleman of Sykesville, MD, her daughter, Sara Beth Kallay and her husband Keith Paul Kallay, of Sykesville, MD, her son, Jeffrey David Hinkleman and his wife Melissa Anne Hinkleman, of Myrtle Beach, SC, mother, Audrey Ellen Belsinger of Ellicott City, MD, sister Susan Lynn Belsinger of Brookeville, MD, sister Sally Ann Belsinger of Enterprise, OR and her grandchildren Morgan, Anya, Elena, Aiden & Abby. Also many dear nieces and cousins.
A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date. Burial will also take place at a later date.
