Doris E. Jones

Doris Whipple Jones, age 84, a permanent resident of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, surrounded by family in Maryland after a battle with breast cancer.

Doris was born in Connecticut and spent most of her adult life in Indiana, where she built a life centered on learning, family, and love. She was a biology and science teacher who brought curiosity and intelligence into everything she did. Doris loved her family deeply and found joy in gardening, animals, and the natural world.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Jones; her son, Sam Jones; and her daughter, Sara Magness. She will be deeply missed by her family, including her grandchildren, who were with her in her final days.

No formal services will be held at this time.

Doris will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her passion for science, and the steady love she gave to those around her.
