Frank M White III of Catonsville, known as Pete to many, passed away February 8, 2026.
Born in Chicago in 1933, he moved with his family to Halethorpe in 1946. Frank attended the University of Maryland, where he earned his doctorate. He worked in private industry, including Westinghouse, before shifting to academia. Frank became a professor of Business at the Community College of Baltimore County, Catonsville campus, in 1967. At the college, he developed the first Data Processing academic program, which he chaired for close to 30 years. He also met his wife Susan at the college, and they worked there together until his retirement in 2000.
While Frank and Susan raised their boys in Severna Park, he volunteered and supported the local sports both of his children participated in. He was an active member in a walking group, the Severna Park Bagel Walkers, and served as an usher at St. John the Evangelist's Church. After retirement, Frank worked at what he described as his "dream job", a tour guide for the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. For many years, he gave visitors to the ballpark detailed tours and delighted them with facts about the Orioles' home. He loved his family, but the Orioles were a close second in his heart.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan White (née Pressman), his two sons, Frank IV (Sheila) and Scott (Aidan). He was grandfather to Danny. He was also, from a previous marriage, father to Alice Hudson (Michael); grandfather of Cara, Molly, Brad (Nicki) great-grandfather to Logan and Luke. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Judith Cottrell (David); grandfather of David Jr., William (fiancé Stephanie), Thomas, and Angela. He is also survived by his sister, Marge Rhodes (Jim), and pre-deceased by his brother, John White.
A Funeral Mass will be offered in the near future.
