Garry Francis Cerrone

GARRY FRANCIS CERRONE GARRY FRANCIS CERRONE was born on October 15, 1946 and passed away at 4:45 am on August 5, 2025 in the Franklin Square MedStar Hospice Center. He was 78 years old. Embraced a Larger-than-life charisma, story-telling and deep dives into ancestry, and for spreading joy among those lucky enough to be around him. He was our Renaissance Man, and he was truly one of a kind.

Raised and surrounded by his loving family in Brooklawn, New Jersey, Garry developed a passion for trains that he inherited from his grandfathers. Garry’s commitment to and adoration of trains continued throughout his life, from the layout he had in his studio to “running” trains with troops of other train collectors and making kits for train enthusiasts.

Family, friends, colleagues,40 years of inspired students are very saddened from our loss of Garry, whose heart could not have been bigger, whose presence could not have been more impactful, and whose legacy will live on forever.

Survived by his loving wife of Myra Perel (née Stutman), his former wife, Nancy Carey, his daughter, Gia Cerrone Gamez, Edgar Gamez Son in law, Myra’s son Adam, daughter Joanna, daughter-in-law Brooke, grandson Kyle & granddaughter Chloe.

We are so grateful to our friends and neighbors who have been by our side in this difficult time and the Baltimore City EMTs— for their help and care.

Predeceased by his father, Frank, his mother, Blanche, and his brother, Frank Jr. Forever cherished and remembered by each leaf on the Cerrone family tree in the towns of Brooklawn & Woodbury, New Jersey, and Montaquila, Italy.
