Irene H. Moniuszko (103) passed away on December 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 3, 1922 in Windsor Connecticut to Stanley and Julia Dlugokencki. She is predeceased by her husband, George Moniuszko, and her sisters Jean Johnson, Alfreda Hines, and Winifred Patten.
Irene is survived by her children: Charles Moniuszko (Diane), Richard Moniuszko (Linda), George Moniuszko (Mary) and Diane Lewis (Robert). She was a devoted grandmother to Perry Howell, Evan Moniuszko, Jordan Moniuszko, Lauren Moniuszko, Stephanie Zientak , Paul Moniuszko, Julie Stolarz, Rebecca Lewis, Christopher Lewis, and Marilyn Lewis. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Andrew, Lucy, and Alex Howell; Adley Moniuszko; Grayson Zientak; Caroline and Rhett Stolarz.
There will be a mass of Christian burial on December 27, 2025 at 11:00 with a viewing at 10:00 am prior to mass. It will be located at St. Francis de Sales 1450 Abingdon Road, Abingdon, MD 21009.
