On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, we lost a man who could never be replaced and never will be forgotten.
Joseph B. Scott, fondly known as Rick, 68, of Windsor Mill, MD, passed away at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson, MD surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 7, 1957 in Washington, D.C. to Joseph and Lillie Mae Scott, both predeceased. He was raised in both the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County, MD in his beloved Peppermill community.
Rick was a devoted husband to his wife, Danielle; a proud father to his daughters, Damesha Scott (Leonard), Leah Wiley; and his son, Malcolm Moses-Hampton (Ana); a granddaughter Sheena Holiday, four grandsons Dailyn and Dylan Route, Maxwell and Miles Rodriguez and a host of relatives and friends. Rick lived a life filled with love with devoted family and friends.
Rick lived a life filled with love, laughter and lessons. He attended Largo High School in Largo, MD. Afterwards, he went to work in both the banking and automotive industries. Rick had a passion for music and worked to launch new artists into the industry. Rick had a lasting impact on those he met. He made many long-lasting friendships, building relationships and experiences along the way.
Rick loved sports and studied the games with vigor. He would offer up many conversations to anyone who would listen. He would endlessly talk about teams, players and upcoming drafts. Rick was very competitive when it came to playing sports and enjoyed the friendly banter amongst his friends and family.
To know Rick was to experience him. Whether through laughter, a side comment, or a real conversation that stuck with you, he left a lasting impression. While his passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, his voice, his lessons, and his love will continue to live on in all of us.
The Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm on May 2, 2026 at the Gala Center, 1700 Hill Drive, Baltimore, MD 21244
