Judith Anne Porter(age 82) from Catonsville, MD entered heaven’s paradise on February 5th, 2023 after succumbing to complications related to congestive heart failure. Born on May 16th, 1940 in Baltimore, MD to her loving parents Ernest A Small (father) and Doris M Small (mother). She is survived by her husband of 57 years David R Porter and son David R Porter Jr, brother Alan E Small (Sharon), sister Rosemary G Miller (Robert) along with nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces. Judy attended St Bernadine Catholic School and Catonsville High School later earning her GED in 1958. She continued her education after raising a family where she earned a BS in Sociology from Towson State University in 1983.
Furthermore, she served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1961 where she reached a rank of Lance Corporal. Fulfilling her duties with the USMC included working in the Office of the Commandant, the Pentagon, and Chief of Staff for then Vice President Richard Nixon, as well as many good will tours. Judy was also named Miss Marine Corps in 1960. Some years later she worked at Mercy High School (teacher), Mt St Joseph High School (administration), the Baltimore City Police Department (administration), and eventually retired from the State of Maryland Department of Transportation (classification analyst) in 2012.
Judy was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St Mark Church in Catonsville where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. She also was very involved with the Catonsville Kennel Club, American Kennel Club, Mason-Dixon Kennel Club, Collie Cub of America and the Dog Owners Training Club where she held a number of office titles throughout the years. She also was a contributor to various Catholic organizations, the SPCA, and the Humane Society where she was instrumental in animal rescue and welfare.
Judy loved her family, God, Country, Corps, and her collies very much.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday March 11th(11 AM) located in St Mark Catholic Chapel, 30 Melvin Ave Catonsville, MD. An internment will take place immediately after at Loudon Park Cemetery with full military honors. A Celebration of Life will follow at Knights of Columbus Patapsco Council located at 1010 Frederick Rd in Catonsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Baltimore County Humane Society in her name.
