Judy Byrne

Judith Ann Byrne, 72, of Ellicott City, MD, passed away August 12, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born December 1, 1953, in Baltimore, MD to George and Edith Parker, Judy graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1971, where she landed an internship position with the Department of Defense. From there, she spent 25 years working primarily as a Protocol Officer.

She loved baking, sewing and embroidery, and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed hosting family gatherings that often lasted well into the evening hours.

Judy is survived by her son, Michael Chaney; daughter, Nicole Chaney; daughter-in-law, Tammy Chaney; son-in-law, Eric Oetting; granddaughters Ashlyn Chaney, Parker Chaney, and Addison Oetting; brother, George (Bud) Parker; sister-in-law, Lisa Parker; and nephews, George Parker and Jeremiah Parker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Parker; father, George Parker; nephew, Jacob Parker; and husband, Mickey Byrne.

Judy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say goodbye to Judy, we celebrate the life of a woman who was a beacon of kindness and generosity.

A funeral service will be held on 11 September 2026 11:30am at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery with Fr. Gerry Bowen officiating.
