Kathryn Schatra

Kathryn Ruth Schatra, affectionately known as Kathy, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the Lorien LTC in Columbia, Maryland. She was born on September 15, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge and community service.

Kathy had a remarkable career as a principal secretary at Worthington Elementary School, where she was cherished not only for her professionalism but also for her warmth and kindness towards both staff and students. Her unwavering support made a lasting impact on those she worked alongside, fostering an environment of encouragement and dedication.

She was a beloved wife to her husband, Charles, and a devoted mother to her daughter, Jessica. Kathy's family also included her cherished sister, Elizabeth Scott, who shared in many of life's moments with her. The bond between them was strong, filled with love and deep respect, enriching their lives together.

Kathy’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched during her journey. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast determination, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. Her presence in this world will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved.
