Kenneth Lee Smith

Kenneth Lee Smith, 95, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

He was born to Wilbur & Gertrude (Dutrow) Smith on January 9, 1931 and was a younger brother to Betty L. Smith, who predeceased him in 2010.

Ken was married to Norma Faye Barberi, who predeceased him in 2008.

They had 5 children: Brenda Faye (Smith) Balazs, deceased, Cynthia Joy (Smith) (Bennett)Kolan, Deborah Louise (Smith) Mueller, Jeffery Lee Smith and Gregory Lynn Smith, deceased

Ken is survived by 3 of his children: Cynthia Kolan & husband Al; Deborah Mueller & husband David; Jeffery Smith & wife Pam; daughter-in-law Anne.

Ken is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Stephen Bennett & Kristen, Ericka (Smith) Hartman & Dan, Kenneth Bennett, Stephanie Smith & Robin Feher, Alyssa (Balazs) Dottin & Harold, Joshua Smith & Christina, James Balazs II & Emily, Kathryn (Balazs) Mason & Dustin, Michael Smith & Molly, and Grant Balazs & Savanna Gonsalves

Ken was pre-deceased by one great-grandchild and is survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

After a career in the US Navy, Ken worked full-time repairing and maintaining scientific equipment. After becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Ken enjoyed the volunteer ministry, sharing a positive hope for the future based on God’s Word, the Bible. He took comfort in the Bible’s hope of a resurrection to the earth, getting to see his family and friends again.
