Forever in our Hearts
Lillian Anna Tenney
Lillian was born in Baltimore, MD on August 6, 1926 and passed quietly in her sleep at age 99 (almost 100), due to several medical issues she has dealt with over the past year or so, on July 20, 2026.
She is survived by her daughters – Joyce Lurz (husband, Charles), Theresa Stafford, and Yvonne Hupp – and her son, Michael Tenney – and a larger extended family. She was preceded in death by Gale Tenney and her youngest daughter, Michelle Tenney.
Things she loved – arranging flowers and gardening, spending time with her family, Christmas (including special time early each Christmas Day with just her and Michelle) – she always made sure we had something under the tree even when times were tough, long drives in the country, traveling with Michelle out west, eating steamed crabs with family, writing cards and letters (people often saved her letters), music of John Denver and Brule (a Native American band) and old-time country.
She has not attended a church for a long time, but she talked to God often about a lot of things.
She lived a life that was full of bumps in the road, but she also had some amazing experiences that she never thought she would be able to do (walking trails at the Grand Canyon with her walker on a trip with Michelle, getting onto a whale watching boat in New England with Joyce and Michelle, feeding burros and seeing buffalo up close out west, and many more).
And she was loved!
