Louisa Meekins

Louisa Ann Meekins passed away on September 02, 2025 at the young age of 59.

She is predeceased by her parents, Gene W. and Angeline A. Meekins, and her brother, Gene W. Meekins Jr.

She was the youngest of six children and is survived by her sisters: Carol Jackson (John) and Jacqueline Alban (Rick) and her brothers: Charles Meekins (Laura), Frank Meekins (Denise) and JoAnne Meekins (Sister-in-law); also, many nieces and nephews. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and a friend to all.

Louisa was born on November 15, 1965 in Catonsville, Maryland, a graduate of Catonsville High School and the Baltimore Academy of Hair, where she received her Master Barber License.

She had an artist’s heart and a love of travel and adventure. She fearlessly embraced her many interests, including vintage collecting, gardening, cooking and art, or traveling to places in Europe, the Middle East and across America. She will be affectionately remembered as absolutely brimming with life.

Through her local business, L.A. Hair, in the Paradise community of Catonsville, Louisa met hundreds of locals during her 30 years in business there, offering her beautiful smile, positive energy and caring personality. This love of people and entrepreneurial spirit inspired her to develop and provide a myriad of holistic remedies through a second business that she created, called L.A. Topicals.

Louisa's loving family will forever cherish her memory and continue to pray for our Lord and Savior to keep and comfort her soul for eternity. May the winds of God’s love blow softly on us from on high with her precious memory forever.

Catholic service will be held on October 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Mark Chapel located at 30 Melvin Ave, Catonsville, Maryland

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
