Mary O'Mara

July 14, 1944 — August 25, 2025

Mary Agnes Leonardo O’Mara of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. Born on July 14, 1944, she had just celebrated her 81st birthday. Mary is survived by daughter Linda and spouse Sean Myers, of Glyndon, Maryland, grandchildren Benjamin Brandenburg, Colin and Ryan Myers, daughter Michelle and spouse Gary Drzewiecki, of Parkville, Maryland, and grandchildren Matthew Drzewiecki and spouse Michelle, and Amy Drzewiecki as well as a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn. Mary was predeceased by her husband James (Jim) O’Mara.

Mary grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania. She attended Archbishop Prendergast High School. While in High School, Mary met Jim, the love of her life. After marrying in 1965, the two moved to Maryland where Jim worked for the Social Security Administration and where they raised their family for over 30 years. Although a homemaker for most of her life, Mary supported Jim in his many side business endeavors, most notably the operations of a summer rental property. In 1977, they bought an old apartment building in Wildwood, New Jersey where they hosted summer rentals for over a decade. Since then, they proceeded to spend every summer in Wildwood until finally retiring and moving full-time to North Wildwood. Mary and Jim were active members of their community, volunteering for the Knights of Columbus, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and their beloved Elks. They were regulars at the Elks weekly pinochle night, and each had claimed the championship one year. Mary and Jim were avid travelers during retirement. They especially loved cruises, having been on over 25 cruises. They spent the winter months in Florida, enjoying dining out and time spent with friends by the pool, especially at Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Mary returned to Baltimore after Jim’s death in 2020 so she could be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. A resident of Springwell Senior Living community, Mary was well-loved by staff and fellow residents alike. Ever the social butterfly, Mary loved joining in the games, outings, and the weekly happy hours. She was known for her smile, kind spirit, and her flip flops – even in winter! Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace with her beloved Jimmy.
