Paul Evan Rosen, affectionately known as "Paulie," was born on November 6, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this world on December 23, 2025, after a courageous battle against Stage 4 Lung Cancer. His wife, Kelly Rosen, was steadfastly by his side throughout this arduous journey, reflecting the deep connection they shared.
A graduate of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD, Paul was part of the Class of 1983 and had an adventurous spirit from his youth. He found joy in learning to box, eventually becoming a nearly-undefeated amateur boxer in the Baltimore area. His passion persisted well beyond his school years as he forged a remarkable career that began as an electrician's apprentice for his father, Morton. Paul rose through the ranks to become a master electrician, making his mark working up and down the Eastern seaboard while honing his skills as a master cultivator. He was renowned for his expertise in cultivating for 40 years, displaying a passion and dedication that resonated across the industry. In addition to his impressive career, he spent three years as a forklift driver extraordinaire at Amazon before retiring completely in 2024.
His warm personality drew people to him wherever he went. Paul was the center of attention, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him could recount how unforgettable he was. His wife, Kelly, fondly recalls his tales of their origin, often telling people they had been together for 95 years, exaggerating with joy and laughter.
Mochi, a cherished German Shepherd, held a special place in Paul’s heart. Their bond was one of those rare friendships that seemed to leap from the pages of a storybook, showcasing a connection that was undeniably profound. Alongside his love for his dog, Paul was a devoted friend to over 50 cats throughout his adult life, embodying the title of 'cat whisperer.' His other passions included the rich history of NYHC, particularly his admiration for the band Murphy's Law, which also led to a myriad of friends and cherished memories. The enchanting city of Amsterdam served as a backdrop for countless adventures, where he met Kelly during one of his many visits – a place he lovingly referred to as "Disneyland for adults."
Paul leaves behind an indelible legacy, survived by his beloved wife, Kelly; his daughter, Tara Rosen, whom he was extremely proud of; his stepdaughter, Payton Nissen; his sister, Jeana Rosen Green, and brother-in-law, Solomon; along with his cherished nephews Aaron and Matthew Weinberger, and niece Emily Green. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Morton Rosen, and mother, Marcia Rosen.
Reflecting on his life, Paul's Facebook profile poignantly stated, "40 year Master grower of boutique landrace cannabis, Master Electrician, and I love my wife." These words encapsulate not only his professional achievements but the essence of his true pride—his family. As we gather our cherished memories of Paulie, we hold onto his spirit, which will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
