Regina Clare Auburger (nee Phillips) peacefully passed on February 27, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Auburger, Jr., and their sons, Nicholas Auburger, Andrew Auburger and his wife, Jaime. She was a wonderful grandmother to Talia and Ezra Auburger, who proudly called her “Nini.” She was born in 1951 to the late Rita and Edward Phillips and was the youngest of their 4 children. Regina outlived all her siblings: Rita (Karen) DeBus, Kathy Marley, and Thomas Phillips. She was also sister-in-law to Dave (Bruce) and Debra Auburger, Janice and Edwin Drake, and Patricia and Lewis Pearce III. Many nieces and nephews also loved her.
Regina, also known as Jeanie to family and friends, worked for 22 years at Social Security Administration as an Administrator Specialist, primarily doing clerical work. She left her job when she became a full-time mother to Nicholas and Andrew. She loved being home with her boys and being involved in their activities and schooling. When her sons were older, she began working for the Baltimore County Infants and Toddlers Program, and for 20 years she helped families with young children who had special needs and disabilities. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, many people. She loved spending time with Bob at their home of 50 years. Her hobbies included reading, visiting casinos, working in her garden, and bird watching. She loved good food, her Starbucks coffee, and family gatherings. She enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets at the beach, especially in Ocean City, Maryland, her favorite place to vacation. Her favorite role has been a loving and caring grandmother to Talia and Ezra and watching them grow. Regina will be so lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on April 10, 2026 at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, Maryland. Visitation at 10am followed by memorial service at 11am. Lunch to follow.
