On Sunday, August 8, 2021, Rita Sites (nee Walsh) went to be with the lord. She was the loving wife of the late Raymond Sites, beloved mother of Earl (Ray) Sites and his wife Mary and Gary Sites, cherished grandmother of R. Garrett Sites and his wife Carly, Karly Parson (nee Sites) and her husband Brady, great grandmother of Kolton Parson, aunt of many nieces and nephews and loving friend to all. Rita was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Margaret Walsh, and by her siblings; Earl (Joe) Walsh and his late wife Eleanor, Richard (Dick) Walsh and his late wife Betty, John Edward (Jack) Walsh and his living wife Jeanie, Margaret (Margie) Rice and her late husband Elmer. On Friday, September 18, 1931, Earl and Margaret Walsh welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Rita into the world in Mount Savage, MD. She then grew up and added the titles of wife, mother, grandmother, and was honored as a great grandmother just this year. Family was the foundation of Rita’s life and her pride and joy. Her fondest moments were those spent with family and friends near and dear to her at family cookouts or annual Christmas parties. Traveling, bowling, and cooking were just a few hobbies she enjoyed when she wasn’t busy attending all her grandchildren’s school events and activities. Rita retired from AT&T as a telephone operator. She was a dedicated member of St. William of York Church, volunteering for many committees and community activities. Rita also enjoyed giving what spare time she had to various other organizations and others in their time of need. A Visitation will be held at the MacNabb Funeral Home, 301 Frederick Road Catonsville, MD on Friday August 13 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. William of York Church, Baltimore MD at 10 A.M. followed by burial in St. Patricks Cemetery, Mount Savage, MD.
