Baltimore, MD — Robert G. Anderson, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 19, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. Bob (as he was affectionately known by friends and family) was the son of the late John C. Anderson and Marie V. Anderson (nee Janocha). He grew up with a passion for cars and boats which shaped the dedicated, hard-working, and warm-hearted man he would become.

A Life of Purpose and Connection

Bob spent several years working as a parts manager at Norris Ford and then served 20 years working as a boat captain at the Port of Baltimore, where he was highly respected for his integrity and sharp wit. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid gearhead and could often be found in his garage working on his latest classic car or at the marina with his boat.

Above all, Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted partner to Cheryl for 40 years, a wise and supportive father to his daughter, Amy and the ultimate storyteller for his grandchildren, Gavin and Griffin. His gentle guidance and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and Legacy

He is survived by his beloved partner of 40 years, Cheryl; his daughter Amy and partner Carlos; his cherished grandchildren, Gavin and Griffin; and his brother Richard C. Anderson and sons, Drew, Rich and Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents and his many aunts and uncles.

Service Information

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date for immediate family.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for their compassionate care and support during his final days.
