Robert Edward Ger, 87, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026.

Born on August 25, 1938, in Miami Beach, Florida, Robert — beloved by family and friends as Bob, Bobby, and Grambo — was the son of the late Jack and Katherine Ger, and brother of the late Sylvia Feldman and the late Neal August.

He is survived by his wife, Lesly Flemming Ger; his children, Allyson Ger, Jonathan (Dreama) Ger, Donald (Susan) Ger, Kristina (Walter) Ger, Jacqueline Ger, Cheryl Barnard, and Ian (Kristin) Flemming; his grandchildren, Derek (Blair) Ger, Jeremy (Emily) Ger, Ben (Lanie) Retik, Molly Retik, Dina Retik, Rebecca Ger, Christopher Barnard, and Tyler Barnard; his great-grandchildren, Mason, Lyla, Hailey, and Hudson Ger; and his nieces, Lisa Feldman Mastin and Jill Biggs.

Bobby grew up in Miami Beach, Florida and spent much of his life playing and teaching tennis. He was an excellent player and was well known throughout Montgomery County by the hundreds (if not thousands) of students that he taught his beloved sport to. He not only elevated their games, but did so with charisma and what he was best known for; his sense of humor. The courts were filled with as much laughter as they were with the instruction.

Bobby enjoyed watching tennis and other competitive sports, lifting weights, listening to and singing country music. He enjoyed spending time with his family, His sense of humor lit up any gathering.
