December 19, 1956 — October 23, 2025

Essex, MD

With deepest sadness we announce the passing of our oldest sister, Robin Yvonne Hartley who went to heaven this week. Robin was preceded in death by our parents, Thomas E. Hartley, Jr., Suealla Joann Hartley, and our sister Kathy T. Fahey Mason. Robin was loved by her remaining siblings including Sharon Hartley Niemann, Dora Hartley Leonard, Milo Hartley, and Thomas E Hartley, III, and many nieces and nephews.

After attending Gaithersburg High School, Robin worked at the Teacher's Credit Union in Derwood, and then many years as a legal secretary for Peter Angelos Law in downtown Baltimore. Since 2006, she enjoyed working first full and then part time at Geresbeck's German Market, where her co-workers were her dearest friends. Robin loved her family and loved cooking, watching the cooking shows, and trying out recipes. One of her best adventures of late was attending her Class of 1974 Gaithersburg High School Reunion and getting reacquainted with old friends. Robin was a breast cancer survivor for the last 19 years. While the memory above is an old one, it was one of our happiest, when we were all together, as Robin (center) is with all of us, and her dear terrier Tasha Marie. Tasha (who was like her child) had her own bed and room, and Robin cooked rice and chicken for her daily, and it was really hard on Robin when she passed. While our hearts are saddened, we know she will be reunited with Tasha and her loved ones who went before. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research foundation. https://www.facebook.com/SusanGKomen/
