It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Rosa Aquia Motsay, who departed this life on March 10th, 2026, at the age of 72. Rosa was born on January 10th, 1954, in Cefalu, Sicily, to Vincenzo Aquia and Concetta Serio. She immigrated to the United States with her family, eventually settling in Little Italy, Baltimore. There, she excelled in school, graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1973, and became a naturalized citizen in 1978. Rosa married James William Motsay on September 8th, 1984, and together they raised three sons: Jimmy, Philip, and Joe, filling their home with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Throughout her life, Rosa was dedicated to her community, serving as an Administrative Assistant and a teaching aide for students with disabilities, while actively volunteering with seniors. Her warmth, patience, and unconditional love left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Predeceased by her brother Giuseppe in February 2026, Rosa leaves behind her sister Lorenza, brother Salvatore, her sons, and granddaughter Demi, who will forever carry her spirit within them.
