Stephanie April Renee Law

Stephanie April Renee Johnson-Law, affectionately known by family and friends as Nee, departed this life to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 11, 2025. Nee was born at DC General Hospital in Washington, DC on April 1, 1962 to the late Dora Agnes Chisley-Johnson and the late Thomas R. Johnson. Nee was educated in the DC School Systems and graduated from St. Cecilia School in June 1980. After graduating from high school, Nee met and married her late husband, Lawrence Law in 1983. No children were born from this union. Following in her mother's footsteps, Nee was a live-in family caregiver for many years by trade. However, her true passion was caring for the elderly. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and watching old movies. She loved the old fashion they wore in those old movies. On any given day you could catch Nee singing and dancing to some Go-Go music, especially her favorite, the late Chuck Brown. Nee did NOT bite her tongue about anything! Whatever she thought, she said, and she would season it with a few choice words. Nee was also preceded in death by brothers Timothy and Reginald Johnson, sister Geraldine Johnson-Mason, nephews Timothy Johnson, Jr and Rico Johnson. Stephanie April Renee leaves behind to cherish her memory: her beloved sister Sarah L. Johnson-Jones; nephews Muhammed Dayaan, Kalvan Johnson, Cortez Johnson and Marcus Jones; and niece Keisha Johnson and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. A Memorial Service is being planned in Nee's honor on Saturday, March 29, 2025. More information will follow.
