Susan Virginia Drinan Bowes

Susan Virginia Drinan Bowes, age 56, passed away on May 28, 2026, after a long and difficult struggle with chronic health complications.

Susan lived her life between Maryland and Massachusetts and dedicated much of her professional life to helping others. Before becoming disabled due to ongoing health issues, she worked in nonprofit organizations managing programs that supported the elderly and individuals living with chronic illness. Caring for others was deeply important to her, and she was passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who needed compassion and support.

Susan was a devoted Catholic whose faith remained an important part of her life. She was known for her kindness, caring heart, and deep love for her family. Nothing brought her more joy than her children and granddaughter, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Drinan Jr. and Donna Youngworth, and her brother, William Drinan III.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Duffany and husband Robert of Somerset, Massachusetts, and her beloved granddaughter, Delilah; her son, Gregory Drinan Bowes and wife Eve of Fall River, Massachusetts; her brother, Shawn Drinan and wife Dorothy of Bel Air, Maryland; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss her greatly.

Susan’s family hopes she will be remembered for her compassion, her faith, and the love she gave to those around her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shatterproof, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by addiction, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Susan’s honor, reflecting both the challenges she faced and the compassion she carried for others throughout her life.
