Vincent Gabriel Johnson, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland, died unexpectedly on April 16, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 8, 1956, to the late Charles Johnson and Beverly Engel, Vince was a man defined by his kindness, intellect, and an unwavering gentleness that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A true Baltimorean, Vince was a devoted fan of the Orioles and held a deep loyalty to his city’s football teams, from the Colts of his youth to the Ravens of today. Beyond the stadium, he was a man of quiet reflection and sharp mind, finding great joy in the strategy of chess and the complexities of history and politics. Vince's heart was full of love for others. He possessed a rare, "gentle soul" that made him a natural magnet for children and animals alike. Despite facing significant medical challenges throughout his life, he remained remarkably generous and optimistic—a testament to a spirit that truly represented the best of humanity.
Vince is survived by his sisters, Terri Rath (Drake), Gabrielle Glorioso-Black (Sharon), and Jennifer Engel (Mark); and his beloved nieces and nephews, Allison, Kate, Madeline, Max, and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Matthew.
Vince will be deeply missed by his family and the many lives he touched with his quiet strength and big heart.
