Willie “Doc” Johnson Jr. was born on August 21, 1952, in Ford City, Pennsylvania, to the late Willie Johnson Sr. and Carrie Lee Johnson. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, godfather, godbrother, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.
Willie was a proud graduate of Harrisburg High School. Throughout his professional career, he worked in sales, representing several well-known beauty and personal care brands, including Isoplus, Carson Products, and Murray’s. Through his work, Willie built lasting relationships and was known for his personality, determination, and ability to connect with people.
Anyone who knew Willie knew one thing for certain—he was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan! His love for the Steelers was undeniable. Whether cheering for his team, talking football, or sharing his thoughts about the latest game, his Steelers pride was a memorable part of who he was.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Johnson Sr. and Carrie Lee Johnson; and his brothers, Lynwood Johnson and Coleman Johnson Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory four brothers: Curtis Johnson (Michelle) of Tallahassee, Florida; David Johnson (Lawanna) of Savannah, Georgia; Harold Johnson of Greer, South Carolina; and Kenny Johnson of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Kim (Adell) Shelton of Savannah, Georgia; one god sister, Mattie England of Savannah, Georgia; a special niece, LaToya Stafford; and his goddaughter, Ayanna Johnson.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Willie “Doc” Johnson Jr. will be remembered for his warm spirit, his unmistakable personality, his love for family and friends, and the many relationships he built throughout his life. He had a way of making an impression on those around him, leaving behind memories that will be treasured for years to come.
